Dog/Cat - Rs 10/animal
(2) Castration - Cow calves are castrated
in order to produce better Ox for draught purpose having a departmental
charges (levy) Rs 10/animal
And male goats are castrated in order to
have more meat production by having a levy Rs 5/animal
(3) Mass Immunization/Vaccination
Programme - In rainy season or hot & humid weather there are chances of
spread of various infectious disease like Foot and Mouth disease (F.M.D),
hemorrhagic Septicemia (H.S.) which is checked through mass immunization
of overall districts cattle and buffaloe by strenuous efforts of all
Veterinary officers and supporting staff of district
In the year 2009-10 District
Muzaffarnagar has completed its VIII phase of free FMD controlled
Programme aided through Govt. of India.
(4) Artificial Insemination (A.I.)
Programme - A.I. is performed in cow and buffaloe for better progeny of
cow and buffaloe in order to have better milk production & draught
purpose and thus upgrading the breeds. Its levy is Rs 30/Inseminationon
each centre .Moreover this work is also carried out through various Door
inseminators/paravets trained by the department for this purpose and who
perform this A.I work at animal owners door charging Rs
40/insemination.
(5) Swine (pig) breeding scheme-In Distt.
Muzaffarnagar 8 Veterinary Hospitals viz -Basera, Oon, Khatauli,
Garhipukta, Kandhala, Lalookhedee, Bagra &Budhana are equipped with
swine breeding units and carry out natural insemination of Ram (female
pig) through high-bred Boar (male pig)

(6) Sheep breeding Programme- In Distt.
Muzaffarnagar there are 6 sheep breeding units viz - Morna, Khatauli,
Rajpur-chajpur, Shoram, Budhana and Meerapur. Each unit is equipped
with 40 Rams (male studs of sheep) of high-bred in order to carry out
natural inseminations of Ewes (female sheep) at free of cost for better
and high yield of wool through sheep
(7) Goat breeding Programme - In Distt.
Muzaffarnagar there are 16 Veterinary hospitals as stated below

Sadar Muzaffarnagar, Baseda, Garhipukta,
Leesadh, Shamlee, Shahpur, Kandhala, Jansath, Morna, Budhana, Kairana,
Pura, Khatauli, Thanabhawan, Lalookhedi, Bagra
All the above mentioned place hospitals
are equipped with Goat breeding unit, having total strength of 38
bucks(male stud of Goat)distributed in the above units as per the
requirement in order to provide natural insemination in goat at Levy
Rs2/insemination thus upgrading goats to produce more meat,milk,and
fiber.
(8) Distribution of broilers and layers
-In order to provoke the feeling of poultry farming among the people,
chicks at no profit no loss basis are provided to the deliberate poultry
farmers through veterinary hospitals units brought from State Govt.
Baabogarh Poultry Farm.
(9) Fodder seed distribution Programme-High
yield quality of Sorghum, Oat, Barseem, Maize, Cowpea, Lucern etc are
purchased from Departmental State Agriculture Farms at Govt. prices and
are distributed at no loss no profit basis to the volunteered farmers,
through various veterinary hospital units, in order to have high quality
of green fodder to the animals which in turn enhances their production
and keep them healthy.
(10) Swine (Pig) Production Farm scheme -
Under this Scheme Groups of people are formed who are Below Poverty Line
(BPL) and are provided 100 % subsidy through department in order to open
a swine production unit.
5. Department of Animal Husbandry provides
various self employment schemes to the people in accordance to their
qualification. Details of Schemes and the format of application farms
are as follows%&
(A) Swine Production Training Programme-
(a)Education
Qualification: A person must know to read & write Hindi
(b)Training period:
10 days
(c) Centre for
training: C.D.F. Aligarh (U.P.)
(d) Note: Applicant
should sent their duly filled application farm along with attested
passport size photograph pasted at the space provided to Chief
Veterinary Officer, Muzaffarnagar, who in turn send all such farms to
Director of Animal Husbandry Uttar Pradesh,Lucknow. All farms are
collected and complied at Directorate, Lucknow and then list is sent to
C.D.F. Aligarh in order to provide training to the applied applicants.
After getting the training such people can
open their own swine production farms house at their own expenses with
no loan facilities available from the department. Note that the
expenditure during the training programmed will be bore by the trainees
itself.

(C) Paravets training Programme
a)Education Qualification: Intermediate in science /agriculture.
(b)Training period:
Four Months.
(c) Centre for
training: All Veterinary hospitals of District or at L.E.O. training
centre, Lucknow or at L.E.O. training centre Jasala (Muzaffarnagar)
(d) Note -
Application Farms are published in accordance with the requirement and
the applicant who fulfill all necessary requirements are selected for
training. Candidates are selected only from those Nyay panchayat where
there is no pre-existing departmental unit. Selected candidates undergo
two months theoretical training and two month practical training and
twelve months practical exposure to all the aspects of A.I.at their
nearest veterinary hospital. During the training programme trainees are
given Rs 1500 /-as training allowance.
Objectives of training are to train them
for primary veterinary treatments, Artificial Insemination, Vaccination
and Castration in order to provide all such facilities at animal owners
door through them. All such trainees called as Paravets are provided
Semen straws and Liquid Nitrogen free of cost for one year and
thereafter at no loss no profit basis
